ACL reconstruction performed, post-operative recovery uneventful

Hospital course note

Dear colleague, I am writing to inform you regarding your patient, a 31-year-old female, who was admitted to our department on 13/11/2017 following confirmed injury of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee. Upon admission, clinical examination revealed significant joint instability. Diagnostic workup including MRI confirmed complete ACL rupture. Following multidisciplinary assessment and patient consent, she underwent arthroscopic ACL reconstruction on 13/11/2017 using autologous graft. The post-operative course was uneventful. Physiotherapy was initiated prior to discharge. She was discharged home on 14/11/2017 with analgesia, thromboprophylaxis, and a structured rehabilitation programme. We recommend close follow-up in your practice, with specialist orthopaedic review in six weeks. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any queries regarding her ongoing management.
